bullet machismo

A few months back Bullet lovers were dissappointed at the demise of the most powerful bullet, the Bullet 500. Royal Enfield had stopped production of its 500 C.C "Cast Iron" engined Bullet. Bullet lovers can now rejoice as Royal Enfield has relaunched the Bullet 500 by replacing the previous "Cast Iron" engine of the 500 with a new "Lean Burn" Aluminium engine similar to the Bullet Machismo 350 albeit with a higher capacity of 500 C.C.
>>The Bullet Machismo 500 LB is "made to order"
>>Only 500 motorcycles will be manufactured in a year
Yesterday, I had been to a bullet showroom in Bangalore to inquire about the New Bullet 500. The salesman there confirmed the launch of the Bullet Machismo 500 and gave me a leaflet which contained infomation on the new bullet. The leaflet has been scanned and posted below.

Bullet Machismo 500 LB
Few things to note...
According to me "Only a Bullet Chooses its Owner" and not every biker is worth his salt to own a bullet
The Bullet Machismo 500 LB is "made to order". That means you have to especially place an order to get one.

Only 500 motorcycles of the Bullet Machismo 500 will be manufactured in a year.

The Bullet Machismo 500 LB is the most costiliest production motorcycle in India. It is priced Rs. 1,12,000 on-road in Bangalore..!!

Accessories include Twin Spring Coiled Seats, Windshield, Custom Crafted Leather saddlebags by "Hidesign".. All at additional costs

Bullet Machismo 500 LB, Tech Specs

Many "Desi" bike lovers complain that there are too many models similar in looks, engine displacement and power in India which doesn't offer them exclusivity. With only 500 motorcycles to be produced a year and with the largest displacement and the most powerful engine being produced in India, this is an opportunity to those forever complaining types to get exclusive. But I still have doubts that Royal Enfield will be outright flodded with advance bookings for the Bullet Machismo 500 LB. According to me "Only a Bullet Chooses its Owner" and not every biker is worth his salt to own a bullet. But for those who wanted to own a Bullet 500, Royal Enfield now gives you all the more reasons to buy one for yourself. But you will need to have deep pockets and have to be a die hard Bullet enthusiast.

Bullet Electra FI

What you see above is thephoto of the new "Fuel Injected" Royal Enfield 500 Bullet Electra EFI..The Bullet 500 Electra EFI is right now an import only model and will soon make its appearence on foreign shores soon.Apart from Fuel Injection, The Bullet 500 Electra EFI also features a Unit Construction Engine (Engine-Gearbox in a single block) and a more conventional left side gear shifter.. which sets this particular model apart from previous Royal Enfield models. The Bullet 500 Electra EFI is right now an export only model.. The classic looking speedometer shows the reading in MPH (miles per hour). The Bullet 500 Electra also "Probably" features a twin spark plug like design on its single cylinder engine..The 500 Electra EFI also features front discs and a gas filled rear suspension. There are news of a 350 cc engine with similar Unit Construction Engine (without the Fuel Injection) that is being prepared for an India launch..!!Technical Specifications of the Royal Enfield Bullet 500 Electra EFI:Engine:

Karizma review

karizma my view:

The HERO HONDA KARIZMA was the first real sports bike to be launched in INDIA and although initial prices were really high, the response was great and the CBZ’s styling looked childish alongside it’s elder sibling, the KARIZMA.The bike was targetted at the higher end of buyers who were eager on getting a good sports bike at a reasonable rate in INDIA.The KARIZMA addressed all those who had a passion for speed and styling and head-turning looks. One of the best looking bikes around in INDIA then and now.Although the PULSAR is being considered as a competition to this BEAUTY,you will come to a conclusion that the PULSAR 180 DTSF-i doesn’t even stand a chance against the HERO HONDA KARIZMA.This review concentrates on

LOOKS AND STYLING
RIDE COMFORT
RIDE AND HANDLING
SWITCH-GEARS AND
INSTRUMENTATION
ENGINE PERFORMANCE
FUEL EFFICIENCY
FINAL VERDICT

Each section will have it’s own rating and the overall rating and tester’s notes will be provided at the end of the review.JET SET GOOOOO……
LOOKS AND STYLING
The first thing anybody would notice in the KARIZMA is the styling aspect of the bike. The immensely aerodynamically efficient lines on the bike will catch you off guard.Especially when you take into account the amount of effort put into the design of the front fairing which incorporates/houses the indicators, two air pockets on either side and the head lamp. The fairing is not a full one which can be seen on SPORTS BIKES but nevertheless it was never before there on any INDIAN BIKE.Except for the ADRENO which was one dumb bike.Worsht possible DESIGN.Gave the feeling of riding a bike designed for ROAD RASH games.Yuck.Then the lines are amazing and extends into the fuel tank.Which has recesses for the rider’s legs. The tank doesn’t look big like the PULSAR’s bulky tank but it holds 15lts of fuel. And the tail-light design needs some mention over here.As is the case with most of HERO HONDA’s bikes, the tail part is one that catches the eyes of the on-looker the most. The KARIZMA’s tail section isnt an exception. It is equally popular wid all and you can even see them fitted onto PULSARS and other bikes too.The tail light is a split one.And the lenses are brilliant.Wow!!!Then come the trapezoidal headlamp unit up front.Illumination is brilliant which is unmatched by any bike in the country. The guide lamps are superb and borrowed from the ROYAL ENFIELDS.A nice addition though. The first bike other than the ENFIELDS to use the 2 guide lamps above the headlamp unit. The silencer/exhaust tip is mounted in a really sporty manner and gets an almost slash-cut finish. It is chrome plated and gold coloured. The pipes for the exhaust are powder coated in black.
MY RATING : 9 / 10

RIDE COMFORT
The confort on this bike or shall I call it a beast is awesome. The sporty position of the seat offers the best possible seating position for the rider although the pillion seat could have been a little bit more longer.Even on long journeys, the back support is splendid and the front shock-absorbers do a splendid job of damping the vibrations. The rear shock-absorbers are perfect for INDIAN ROAD conditions which mostly consist of pot-holes and speed breakers. The rear rider’s comfort levels aren’t all that great and could have done with some more thinking and concentration on that aspect. There a few chinks in the armour of this wonderful monster. The foot-pegs for the pillion rider are placed a little too high for comfort. And there is a mark on the front mud-guard everytime you hit a pot-hole because the number plate hits the mud-guard and makes a mark on it.
MY RATING : 8 / 10

RIDE AND HANDLING
Well if you wanted for a bike which you could rely on at all speeds,it is the KARIZMA.Relentless and impeccable on straights and cornering. The bike stands firm on its feet even @ speeds reaching up to 130kmph.There is not a single twitch. The skimpy rear tires of 100/90 spec could be upgraded to 4.00″ MICHELINS race tread-ed ones. The skimpy company fitted rear offers lower levels of grip but as always said,it is what the bike was built for.The company fitted tires will give the least drag and highest possible efficiencies under normal driving conditions in city and on highways. The ride is superlative and the braking is simply terrific. The bike can come to a standing halt in around 30m from 60kmph in around 2-3 secs. And the bike does twitch at the rear if too much of braking is applied. The braking is to be as gradual as possible. The brake pads wear out slower than when you brake hard all the time.It is also advisable to keep atleast 3 cars gap to the vehicle ahead in dry conditions and atleast 8-10 vehicles gap during the rainy season. And well the handling of the KARIZMA in the wet tarmac is as good as that when it is dry.The braking efficiency is hampered to an extent though due to the water film being embedded on the tire treads and the braking distances increase considerably. The Corners can be attacked with tenacity and the bike will respond with aplomb. The bike is simply terrific. There is no competition for the KARIZMA among the BIKES in this aspect.Although the ENFIELDS corner and are much more stable than the KARIZMA.It can be said that it is unexpected of a bike of INDIAN origin to have such high capabilities of handling and cornering.A highly reliable bike in all situations.
MY RATING : 9 / 10

SWITCHGEAR AND INSTRUMENTATION
The next thing that comes to mind is the quality of the switch-gears.The positioning of the switchgear is just about perfect with a sense of usability. The blinder switches are placed superlatively and the horn, indicator(push cancel type),choke lever are all placed on the left side and the electric start and light switch is on the right side.
As for INSTRUMENTATION,it is a superb three pod instrument cluster. The first ever digital instrumentation on any INDIAN bike.A digital indiacator for the fuel levels,ODO and an in-built digital clock find their place in the DIGITAL INSTRUMENTATION.The speedometer and tachometer are anologue and are well placed. The neutral and high-beam indiacators are positioned on the speedometer dial. The displays are backlit in Orange lights and are well visible at all times of the day/night.The speedometer is the most accurate on available in the country. It shows the exact speeds till 100kmph.After that it varies by a small value of 2-3kmph which is highly negligible compared to the speed one’s travelling. What the buyer gets in one helluva informative instrument cluster.
MY RATING : 10 / 10

ENIGINE PERFORMANCE
Another wonderful part of any bike or automobile for that instance has to be the motor on which the vehicle thrives on.In this case, it is 17BHP 223cc SINGLE CYLINDER ENGINE from the stables of HONDA,who are possibly the best engine manufacturers world-wide.The motor doesn’t disappoint those who feel a gush of blood flowing in their veins.Open the throttle up and she’d fly to 60kmph in around 5 secs and with a top whack of around 130kmph(real road conditions,no delta V-BOX USED), the speed lovers will have a splendid time with this beautiful beast/monster.The most power being developed in 3rd gear.So if you are dragging with somebody, just kick her into the 3rd at around 4000rpm and vrooom. The competitor is a speck of dust and eating your dust already. The gear shifts are smooth and silky. The shift lever is a sporty one.And has a 1 down 4 up sports-bike like shift pattern. The motor is silky smooth across all bands of power and never shows signs of tiring and goes on and on and on.It seems as if you still have loads of power even at speeds of 100kmph.Zooming past other cars like the zen and 800 on highways is simple with this bike.Jus open your throttle up and she’d be ready to respond to your calls. The idling speed of the engine is best set around 1200rpm after running the engine in idle for 5 mins.At this idling speed, the optimum performance can be attained with optimum fuel efficiency.
MY RATING : 10 / 10

FUEL EFFICIENCY
A bike built for power and not just power. But RAW POWER,scintillating speeds shouldn’t be brought into the topic of fuel efficiency. But the first thing that gets noticed by others is the fuel efficiency of superbly styled bikes.Well this beauty returns a mileage of 43-45kmpl on steady driving at 60kmph in city conditions. And atleast 47kmpl on highways on maintaining 80kmph speed. As for those who doubt these figures,I cannot do anything bout your astonishment or amazement with which you are reading that a 223cc bike returns 45kmpl in the city conditions.Well gentlemen it is the truth. But the main important things are that you shouldn’t open up the throttle and try speeding away.Gear shifts and acceleration should be gradual.A smooth driving style with minimal gear shifts is to be followed.
MY RATING : 10 / 10

FINAL VERDICT
Well for all the initial rough roads that this wonderful piece of man-made machinery travelled through, people would have thought the journey would be over sooner rather than later.BUt then the LEGEND LIVES ON to conquer the hearts and lives of many a guy/gal.This is one piece of amazing machinery one can ever get to imagine in the days of the PULSARS and UNICORNS.And with the recent drop in prices for the KARIZMA,this is one bike that is worth more than what you pay.The bike is expected to be upgraded sooon. And the bike is supposedly going to be sporting FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM,MONO-SHOCK SUSPENSIONS AND MANY MORE.So watch out for the hidden competition. Most of the people think that the PULSAR 220DTSF-i will prove stiff competition for the PULSAR.Well that’s how far you guys who are BAJAJ lovers can afford to get.The WORLD’s LARGEST MANUFACTURER ain’t gonna sit and watch the PULSARS attack the MONSTER.The KARIZMA ROCKS whatever be the situation, whatever be the competition.KING OF THE INDIAN ROADS.
MR.MAJESTIC IS THE WINNER BY A WHOPPING MARGIN.PRESENT COMPETITION ISN’T EVEN CLOSE.
HERO HONDA SURE GOT THEIR TICKETS RIGHT.AND THE KARIZMA IS A SURE WINNER IN EVERY OWN RIGHT.And expect a rise in levels of competition with the arrival of the PULSAR 220DTSFi,YAMAHA’s 250cc bike and a possibility of a big bike from TVS too. It’s going to be stiff competition by all means and hoping for a fight back from HERO HONDA.

OVERALL RATING : 9.5 / 10

TESTER’S NOTES

Optimal Gear shifts:(Ain’t from the manual for those shit heads who think it is) >:)
1st——0kmph to 15kmph
2nd—–15kmph to 30kmph
3rd—–30kmph to 40kmph
4th—–40kmph to 50kmph
5th—–50kmph to 80kmph
All gear shifts are best done when the tacho reaches 3600-4000rpm.Never let the rpm drop below 2000rpm for optimum performance.
DRAWBACKS/FLAWS:

Number plate hits the mud-guard while encountering pot-holes.
Cold start isn’t all that an easy affair.Needs a considerable amount of choking.
Position of rear foot pegs.
Cost of front fairing.(Costs 945.Rs,300.Rs,949.Rs each for left center and right pieces respectively..It is a three piece fairing)
Very feeble horn. Not audible at all.
The company fitted rear tires can get a bit skiddy under heavy braking.

HOPE THE REVIEW WAS A PLEASURE TO READ.DRIVE SAFE.DRIVE WITH A SMILE.

JET SET GOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

CBZ Extreme

If you loved the CBZ from Hero Honda, you are probably in for a pleasant surprise. The CBZ Xtreme, an upgraded version of its former avatar provides everything that CBZ lacked in. Sleek and stylish looks, ergonomic as well as contemporary designing, smart engineering is what makes this bike a must have for zooming on Indian roads. Yes, this bike literally zooms on the roads, so it would be an insult if the word ‘driving’ is used! This bike has been selling like hot cakes ever since it was launched and has been very popular among enthusiastic bikers. The kick-start model will cost you around Rs. 54,000 while the self-start model will cost you around Rs. 56,000.

The Plus Points
The bike scores on looks, styling and power. The CBZ Xtreme is the most powerful bike in the 150cc section. Hero Honda has delivered a winner with the launch of this bike. The bike reaches 0-60 kmph in 5 seconds flat. The 4-stroke air-cooled single cylinder engine produces a power of 14.4 bhp at 8500rpm while the maximum torque is around 12.8 Nm at 6500rpm. The bike has a great sense of balance and even if you turn sharply at a speed of 100 kmph, it won’t skid. The rider is in a comfortable leaning position, which makes it easier to apply brakes on the bike. Tall riders need not worry as the bike is designed with generous knee recesses built into the fuel tank.

Features
The instrument cluster contains analogue gauges, which includes a speedometer, fuel gauge and an engine-rpm meter in addition to indicators and a powerful headlight. You will also find the sleek aircraft type fuel tank lid on the bike and deeply contoured seat for a comfortable riding experience. Another good thing about the designing is that the rear indicators are integrated into rear LED headlamps, which means they won’t break off and come in your hand! The low engine noise makes it hard to detect a running engine, thus giving a smooth ride. The mileage that can be expected out of CBZ Xtreme is 50kmpl on city roads and 61kmpl on highway.

Hero Honda Hunk

Hero Honda launched its new 150 cc motorcycle called “Hunk” yesterday. From the pics posted below, the “Hunk” appears to be a decent looking motorcycle. Actually compared to the “Styling Disaster” called the CBZ Xtreme, any decent looking motorcycle is going to look handsome. From the engine specs it can be seen that both the “Hunk” and the “CBZ Xtreme” has similar power and torque figures. The Hunk even retains the RED colored Spark Plug cover from the CBZ Xtreme..!! The “Hunk” thankfully loses the funny “Goitre” shaped turn indicators of the CBZ Xtreme (Hallelujah..!!) and has gone for the more simple and conventional shaped ones. The bulbous tank gets large plastic tank extensions which kind of reminds of the ones first seen on the Yamaha Gladiator and the yet to be launched TVS Flame. The plastic extensions also feature raised stickers which proudly display the name “HUNK” on it.If you find your guys don’t really have an imagination, we’ll be more than happy to do it for you
The battery and the Air Filter cover have a two tone finish of black and silver and looks quite nice compared to the unimaginative ones found on the CBZ Xtreme. The tail extensions kind of remind you of the TVS Apache. Towards the tail light, the tail extension gets a dual black treatment. The “Hunk” follows the latest “all black” fad kick started by the Pulsar 180 DTSi. To break the monotony of the black engine covers and the alloy wheels, the “Hunk” gets silver/gray finished footrest sub frames and rear suspension springs. Even the front forks and the Gas Filled rear shock canisters get a copper/gray finish. The rear wheel mud flap looks similar to the ones found on the Bajaj Pulsars. From the photos, the rear mud flap doesn’t quite seem to gel with the rest of the bike and seems to be jutting out a wee bit more than it should have.Cost Cutting:Cost cutting is evident on the “Hunk”. It misses the Split Rear Grab Rails and LED rear tail light (the Hunk gets normal bulb one) which were earlier found on the CBZ Xtreme. The Hunk also doesn’t get a Digital Speedometer display like its “desi” competitors. Another sore omission is the alloy triple clamp. The hunk features a steel plate instead of an alloy triple clamp.Pricing:The Hunk has been priced at Rs. 55,000 (ex showroom New Delhi) for the kick start model and at around Rs. 57,000 (ex showroom New Delhi) for the self start model.

Yamaha R1 & R15

Comparison of outlook of Yamaha Y2F1 and Y2F15

Yamaha Y2F R15

engine

forged piston

Yamaha YZF R15 is a specific bike hosting an 150cc engine which was designed for just one thing - Performance! A bike which can be said as the fastest in Indian Bikes. Although the engine details are secret YZF R15 have several first-in-Indian-bike features.
based on totally race technology with which MotoGP bikes runs, technology with which R1 is built. It is India’s first 150cc 4 valve engine. It is India’s first Bike with forged pistons. It is India’s first Bike with a Diasil Cylinder. It is India’s first Bike with the Deltabox frame, again based on the R1. And it is India’s first Bike with a 6speed gear box.
It is Fuel Injected and will hit the market in June 2008 .The rear tyres though are only a mere 100, MRF uses imported Soft compound to give it better grip than similar sized tyres.
We can expect a prize of INR 80000/- for a beast like this. Never care for the CC. I hope it will have 20+ bhp and a top speed somewhere near 140kmph. I repeat , I HOPE!

My first thought on seeing the R15 was, "Awesome..!!" Actually, there is more to the R15 than just the front fairing. So, what else makes the R15 so special.??

Yamaha R15 Engine Cutout
Liquid Cooled Engine: As an engine runs, the temperature of the engine also rises. If the temperature of the engine rises too much, then it affects the performance of the engine. Therefore engines have some sort of cooling system for its proper functioning. There are two types of cooling systems for engines. The "air-cooling system", that uses air to cool the engine and the "liquid-cooling system" in which liquid is circulated through a system of passages around the engine to cool the engine much more effectively than "air cooling".The R15 is India's first bike to feature liquid cooling. So far all the bikes manufactured in India have had Air Cooled engines. A liquid cooled engine means that the engine will be capable of higher performance.
4 Valves per cylinder: 2 valves per cylinder have been the common format for the engines of our "desi" bikes (the now discontinued Kinetic GF series of bikes being the expection with 3 valves per cylinder format

The R15 will have 4 valves for its single cylinder engine. Can't exactly call it a first for India, because even Bajaj has shown the new 125 cc XCD "Sprint" which also has 4 valves. Since engines with 4 valves per cylinder usually produce most of their power at high RPM, we can expect a high revving engine in the R15.Fuel Injection: This is also a feature that is not a first for India. The 125 cc Hero Honda Glamour "Fi", the Pulsar 220 DTS-Fi and the soon to be launched TVS Apache RTR 160 "Fi" already has fuel injection. However, Yamaha in its website says that the R15 will have a Fuel Injection with "6 hole injectors". So far, I have seen that "Fuel Injection" does not quite boost up the Power of a bike by a significant margin but it does improve the response of the engine. So expect good throttle response from the R15.Forged Piston: The pistons made for most engines are cast pistons, it is made by melting aluminum at high temperatures and pouring it into molds. The other type of piston is this forged type, which is made by forcing aluminum that has been heated to a certain "sub-melting" temperature into a mold under pressure.
Because the aluminum alloy does not reach the melting point in this forged piston production method, it retains a stronger metallurgic quality. For this reason, forged pistons can be made with a thinner, lighter body. But there are difficulties in maintaining precise temperature and other factors in the "forging" process. Due to which such pistons are expensive to produce. In 1997, Yamaha developed a "controlled forging technology" (CF technology) that enabled production of the forged pistons at a lower cost. These pistons are now used on Yamaha's R series supersport models.DiASil Engine Cylinder: The Engine Cylinder is that part of the engine inside which the Piston moves. Air cooled engines have fins on the cylinder to increase the cooling process.
"DiASil" is an abbreviation for "Die-casting Aluminum-Silicon". In case of the R15 it is an all-aluminum cylinder which uses a 20% silicon aluminum alloy.
Conventional engine cylinders have a steel liner to reduce the friction resulting from the piston's movement. The "DiASil" cylinder is made by the exclusive Yamaha Aluminum Controlled Forging (CF) technology.Because the "DiASil" Cylinder is all aluminum, it has excellent heat dissipation qualities and reduces engine weight at the same time. (Aluminum dissipates heat at 3.1 times the rate of steel.) The DiASil cylinder has 60% better cooling performance at 30% lower manufacturing cost and enables 30% lighter design."Link Type" Monoshock rear Suspension: The only motorcycle with a rear monoshock in India is the Honda Unicorn. But the monoshock of the Unicorn is the most basic of monoshock suspensions. The Yamaha R15 has a superior set up called the "Link Type" monoshock suspension.
"Delta" Frame: The R15 has a frame that is different from the normal single or twin downtube motorcycle frames seen in the present bikes in India. The "Delta Frame" of the R15 also can be found on the R series of Yamaha bikes. Apart from giving the bike the looks of a sports bike, the "Delta Frame" also has an excellent rigidity balance which should give the R15 a very sporty handling characteristic.

6 Gears: And Oh Yes.. the R15 also has 6 gears, a first for India (if you discount the legendary RD350 of course)
Front and Rear Disc Brakes: The R1 features disc brakes for both the front and rear.According to Yamaha these features of the Yamaha R15 have been incorporated from the DNA of its high performance racing bikes like the R1. This is not exactly untrue since the R series of bikes from Yamaha actually do feature parts like these.

Pulsar 220cc

New Pulsar 220cc , its powerful.

with split seats,fornt fering,

spilt handles, great style, raps at atop speed of 127k's/hr,Clever, stylish, impressive and probably the most awaited bike for all those bike enthusiasts, the Bajaj Pulsar 220. The range of waiting started long back and had waited the people a long time, grabbing all those excitement and expectations and was launched one fine day, the day for the end of all those excitement, the day of judgment.
Power, Engine, Transmission and Mileage The Pulsar is a 4-stroke SOHC, 220cc DTS FI that is Digital Twin Spark Fuel Injection, oh and of course its electric start, but no kick start. Weird ain't it, we asked the guy in charge "whats happens if it stops and the electric start ain't working?" the answer i got was "push" you're on your own!! mostly there wont be any problems like that. Coming back to the bike. The engine produces a mind-blowing 20bhp and the maximum torque of 1.95kgm at 6500Rpm. Its technically India's most advanced bike. The transmission is a 6 speed - one down and rest up. This bike gets up to a top speed of about 130Kmph. This Pulsar can fly to 60kph in 4.4sec and keep on at 110kph in only 18.7sec. Oil cooler and Bajaj's exhausTEC advances in the 220cc. Its an animal i say!!Styling and FeaturesStyle is the word overall - The Bajaj 220cc is almost identical to the younger 200cc and the only major difference in looks is only the front faring that emerges out. I personally think that the Pulsar series has been aging really fast till now, and this model's might seem to go on and on, though the 200cc is more clean and shaped, these two words jump out of the 220cc because of the front fairing as it looks sticked with the help of fevicol. This is only from the side views, from the front its amazing though. If compared to the Karizma's styling, its far apart. Overall the looks are unbeliveable, impressive and amazing. The P220 has a great list than the competition(Karizma). Starting off with split seats, currently India's only one with it, along with the P200. The mirrors can be folded for fun and the digital display which includes fuel availability, speedometer, and all those necessary stuff but tachometer and LED tail lamp to add that sharp styling and safety of course. The silencer adds the shining finish and some people finds it disturbing. Who looks at all these when having fun?? the huge front fairing is not for nothing, but gives those huge headlights a home to give all those bright light and is said to be the best lights on any Indian bike. LEDs are used for the instruments, and also offer a mini compartment that can be released with a cable in the side.Performance, Handling and MileageThe Pulsar sounds great right from turning the key till riding in 130Kmph. The P220 handling is said to be quite good and thinks that it fells a tad better handled than the Karizma. That smooth riding quality comes within the refined engine and the mileage that they claimed is 50 and the rest comes within you and upto you whether you want a decent mileage by following the rules or a life full of fun by ripping them off and breaking the rules of getting better mileage, and should expect about 35-40kmpl, and a tank of 15L. The one down and rest up gets confusing in the beginning, but will catch up later though. The bike is surely fun to drive and will give the value for the money that compared to the Karizma.Overall:A total Fun Factor if you see, a great steal, great handling with a powerful engine and that awesome styling, and its Bajaj, who wouldn't want to buy one?? Two kinds of people buy this, people who have money and want some bike that will meet their factors, and the other who are soo crazy about it that they arrange the money and go for this beauty, if you cant reach it this high, the P200 is also a good buy.. go for one.

My talk about apache160

I would never call a 160 bhp motorcycle anything superlative. Matter of principle. King of the road, street scorcher, whatever - they are names reserved for motorcycles above 600 cc and should remain so. But if I come down to earth and look at Indian roads, there is a different world around. Here, we have little four stroke machines that do their own little bit of scorching and wheeleing, and in that world, it has its own little tyrants and knights. The Karizma, the Pulsar 200 DTS-i, the CBZ X-Treme, TVS Apache, Pulsar 150.. and that world has just got a new claimant - the TVS Apache RTR 160 motorcycle. Priced right against the other 150 cc models from other manufacturers at Rs 60,000 approx, the Apache RTR with its 160 cc will really be serious temptation for anyone looking for a 150cc category motorcycle.
The TVS Apache motorcycle impressed us all first when they had those bad boys on motorcycles in their TV ad spots that went "now or never" , and "dhinchal dhnchak". The styling caught everyone's eye, and it look just a little while for the Apache to capture everyone's imagination - tired as they were of the Pulsar 150s, 180s that were ruling the road. The TVS Apache quickly captured hearts - OverDrive, BS Motoring and Autocar named it Bike of the Year 2006 and sales were good.
Sometime later, TVS decided to up their game. And thus we have the TVS Apache RTR 160. Adding only 10 cc meant that the bike will still be evaulated against the Pulsar 150 DTS-i - its primary competitor - while beating it easily. Possible, as the TVS motorcycle still weighs some 7 kilograms less than the CBZ X-Treme and Pulsar 150. The Pulsar models have steadily seen upgrades in style, cowl, LCD speedos and LCD tail-lights, and the Apache was going to do all that - plus beat the Pulsar 150 DTS-i on the streets. And going by initial impressions, that is exactly the RTR 160 will do.
So what is the RTR? It is supposed to mean Racing Throttle response - don't take that phrase too seriously, without or without it, the motorcycle will do what it promises. In the TVS Apache RTR 160, the engine capacity si up to 159.7cc. To increase torque, as well as to boost top end whack, bore and stroke were changed to 62 and 52.9 m. What The Apache RTR 160 will give you is 15.2 bhp at 8500 rpm, and a torque of 1.31 kgm at 6000 rpm. To put it in perspective, the the power produced is more than what the original Pulsar 180 did when it hit the market. But the RTR 160 is a lighter motorcycle than the Pulsar 150 and its other competitor, the Hero Honda CBZ X-Treme.
What is the performance on offer? There are no official test rides done by anyone so far - but there are many who rode it and came away and penned down their very favourable first impressions. What TVS claims is a 0-60 kmph figure of 4.8 seconds, and 100 kmph would come up in 17.7 seconds. Actual figures would be a little less exciting than that normally - not that you would still complain. Max speed is claimed to be 118-120 kmph. Almost everyone who rode one claims that the RTR 160 Apache.
The more noticeable difference is the length - the TVS Apache RTR stretches a 2020 mm end to end. The swingarm is 40 mm longer in the RTR 160, all the better for stability. There is a 270 m petal disc- new for India - that cools better and stops great. There is nice styling touches all over in all those places no one would bother earlier. So you have clip-on aluminum handlebars (yay!), LED tail lamp, so-called aircraft-style fuel cap, split grab rail ... The Apache RTR 160 also features the now standard tachometer, clock, trip meter, fuel guage and odometer.
You are not going to complain about style with the Apache RTR 160. I don't care much for the front fairing (didn't like it in the original Apache either), but the RTR's engine cowl is a neat touch - and the racing stripes, yes! Even the wheels will have a nice pinstripe running along the rim, adding to the style. Some don't care much for the racing stripe on the front mudguard and elsewhere - but that is a standard complaint between the ones who like their motorcycle plain vs embellished.

honda unicorn

The new Unicorn 150cc with black alloys
This engineering masterpiece with international design appeal, guarantees to quench your thirst for motorcycle frenzy with all its stunning features.
Instead of conventional twin shock absorbers in the rear, Unicorn incorporates a single, high performance shock absorber housed centrally below the seat and mounted on a much tougher frame. Advanced technology mono suspension coupled with advanced tough and flexible diamond frame offers superior riding comfort and excellent stability.
There are two merits of introducing mono suspension. Firstly, it decreases friction loss through employing single shocker. As a result mono suspension can move freely, improving tractability on road surface. User can derive the benefit of more comfortable ride feel. Secondly, mono suspension design ensures centralisation of mass. By positioning suspension close to the center of gravity of the machine, turning characteristics, stability during braking and overall riding performance is substantially enhanced.
Original technology of mono suspension comes from the world of racing where bikes compete in most extreme conditions. More advanced version of this technology is employed in these bikes. Even the international production models incorporate mono suspension to give statement of style and comfort. Unicorn brings the world advanced technology to India to meet the Indian conditions better than ever before.
